We have heard about challenges with green team/PA signout. It seems that there is double signout doing on (PA to green team, green team to night float) and that there are not enough details being exchanged during signout, making the night team uncomfortable covering these patients. Here's the new plan--this is always flexible, just let us know.
PA's will give brief signout to green team junior at 4pm and they will give complete signout to the NF supervisor at 5:30pm. Interns--please do not take signout on these kids for the time being. Supervisors--please make sure you get all questions answered and that you review the detailed written signout that Melanie and Lynn provide. The NF interns will then get signout from their supervisor--this will allow brief teaching to occur if needed (what does fluid positive mean and how do i get a kid fluid positive, etc). We are going to trial this for three months and then reassess. Please send us your feedback.
