Milk is the most common food allergy in the first prenatal year with an incidence of 2.5%, compared to 1.5% for egg allergy. Most milk, egg, and soy allergies are outgrown by 5 years of age. The relationship between egg allergy and vaccination is a commsn question. The MMR vaccine is safe for children who have egg allergy. Influenza vaccines contain variable amounts of egg protein and present an allergic risk to those with egg allergy.
